Every year, DPG holds its DPG-Frühjahrstagungen (Spring Meetings) and its Jahrestagung (Annual Conference), which are regularly among the largest physics meetings in Europe. Over 10,000 professionals from home and abroad met at the conferences in 2014.
Core concerns of DPG are the transfer of knowledge and the promotion of young talents. Therefore, the DPG-Frühjahrstagungen are an important platform for students to present their first master or diploma thesis topics and to discuss with scientists. The comprehensive acceptance of presentations held by young scientists in the conference programme is a unique feature of the DPG-Frühjahrstagungen, also at international level. At the same time these meetings are of great importance to get in touch with other scientists. They thus offer particularly good opportunities for young people to plan their future professional and career path.
